Well the time has come to make the big decision. I have waited in line for the opportunity to become a season ticket holder at Wrigley Field. This has also coincidentally occurred the same year that we lost our future retirement home courtesy hurricane Ian. Actually it happened the same day the Hurricane hit! I received the email that the wait is over for Cubs season tickets on September 28th!! NOOOO!! Now, my scheduled day to purchase is closing in and I actually am in a big struggle over what to do. If I don’t make the buy, I lose my ability to get them unless I go to the back of the line. The line that took nearly 15 years of waiting. I can commit to the buy and then just try to sell them daily, but if I try to profit, I can lose the right to buy them in the future. The Cubs actually are in control of the resale market and can see what I sell them for through StubHub, their official resale partner(and only one I can legitimately use). I really don’t want to become a ticket broker just to keep the right to buy them each year until we can actually go to games. I can grab a partial ticket package this first year and just try to piecemeal them out for what they cost me, but is that risk worth the effort?! Do I just grab the cheapest they offer and risk people not buying, only to upgrade in the future and not lose my place in line? Do I go a little bigger and risk better seats that also may not sell? Or do I suck it up and realize the chase for tickets was better than the catch? HMMMMM…..
